Doolittle is the second studio album by American alternative rock band Pixies, released in April 1989 on 4AD. The album's offbeat and dark subject material, featuring references to surrealism, Biblical violence, torture and death, contrasts with the clean production sound achieved by the newly hired producer Gil Norton. Doolittle was the Pixies' first international release, with Elektra Records as the album's distributor in the United States and PolyGram in Canada.

The Pixies' second act continues with the band ready to unleash their seventh studio album, Beneath the Eyrie, this fall. The 12-song collection will be their third studio album since reuniting, and the announcement comes just as the band revealed their new single "On Graveyard Hill. The Pixies are an American alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. The original lineup comprised Black Francis (vocals, rhythm guitar), Joey Santiago (lead guitar), Kim Deal (bass, backing vocals) and David Lovering (drums). The band disbanded acrimoniously in 1993, but reunited in 2004. After Deal left in 2013, the Pixies hired Kim Shattuck as a touring bassist; she was replaced the same year by Paz Lenchantin, who became a permanent member in 2016.

With top 10 hits like Monkey Gone to Heaven and Here Comes Your Man, the band went on hiatus after the release of their second album before returning in 1990 with Bossanova, which reached N. in the UK. The band then disbanded acrimoniously in 1993, but reunited again in 2004, going on to enjoy several sold-out world tours.
