The Battle of Wyoming (also known as the Wyoming Massacre) was an encounter during the American Revolutionary War between American Patriots and Loyalists accompanied by Iroquois raiders that took place in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania on July 3, 1778. More than three hundred Patriots were killed in the battle. After the battle, settlers claimed that the Iroquois raiders had hunted and killed fleeing Patriots, before using ritual torture against 30-40 who had surrendered, until they died.
340 patriots were killed during the battle of Wyoming. The British along with colonists that were loyal to the Crown and over 500 Senecas tribal members, led by Colonel John Butler, marched into Wyoming Valley on June 30th. They were demanding that the patriots surrender the forts that were manned by the militias. In exchange they would be allowed to live as long as they did not pick up arms against Britain again. The alliance of the loyalists and the Senecas produced a force of well over 1000 soldiers and Senecas to go up against approximately 400 to 500 revolutionary fighters

The solitary whale, named after the distinctive 52 hertz frequency of its call, belongs to an unknown, unidentified species. So it roams the world’s largest ocean, year after year, desperately calling out for a mate but never finding one. Interestingly, 52 has never actually been seen; only its forlorn love songs have been picked up by navy sonar detectors, but never accompanied by another whale call. Musicians and storytellers around the world have used 52’s unusual story as inspiration in their works. The Loneliest Whale in The World is a rock song written by British band Dalmatian Rex and the Eigentones. Singer Laura Ann Bates also recorded a song dedicated to the unique whale, called The Loneliest Creature on Earth.
