Talking Heads - Houses In Motion Live from the album "The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads".

The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads is a double live album by Talking Heads, originally released in 1982. The first disc featured the original quartet in recordings from 1977 and 1979, and the second disc the expanded ten-piece lineup that toured in 1980 and 1981. The album contains live versions of songs that appear on their first four studio albums, Talking Heads: 77, More Songs About Buildings and Food, Fear of Music, and Remain in Light

I got to see this band during the Stop Making Sense Tour (the tour they filmed the movie); at Forest Hills. Wow that band rocked. The second disc is indicative of the energy. Great memories from a great great band. Reply Notify me Helpful. Marketplace 0 10 For Sale from €. 3.

Noting that many people mistakenly referred to Talking Heads as The Talking Heads, Byrne wanted to establish once and for all with this album title that that wasn’t correct. The Name of This Band is Talking Heads turned out to be even more of an apt title than Byrne may have anticipated, as in many ways, this album served as the heart of what Talking Heads were all about. It showcased them at their very best and demonstrated what was so ground-breaking and unique about them at each point of their career. The album began with a song from the band’s first album, entitled New Feeling. Byrne introduced it to the crowd in his typical minimalist fashion, stating simply, This name of this song is ‘New Feeling. That’s what it’s about.

Talking Heads, in all of their various permutations, definitely put on a good show. Their undeniable creative and musical power permeates every performance of this amazing anthology. Though, in retrospect, this album also sadly closes a chapter. Following these tours the band stopped working with Brian Eno and went in a completely new direction that made this innovative and arguably "intellectual" band into an unexpected pop sensation. The title of the album is a reference both to the group's preference for having no expressed definite article within the band name (as opposed to "The Talking Heads") and to David Byrne's minimalist introductions to songs. The album opens with one such introduction: "The name of this song is New Feeling. That's what it's about.

Speaking in Tongues (Talking Heads album). Speaking in Tongues is the fifth studio album by American rock band Talking Heads, released on June 1, 1983 by Sire Records. Following their split with producer Brian Eno and a short hiatus, which allowed the individual members to pursue side projects, recording began in 1982. It became the band's commercial breakthrough and produced the band's first (and only) US top-ten hit, "Burning Down the House".
